Where is Osama?
Since the beginning of the Strike against Terror, the question begging an answer is Where is Osama Bin Laden (OBL)? Here we present a hypothesis and some facts.
Post-Taliban Afghanistan, Osama would land up in a place where he is least expected to go to. We have to grant the fact that he is a very shrewd and cunning person in addition to being an ace-tactician. He would prefer a place which is teeming with his supporters. He would want an area which is mountainous. He would want it to be disorganized and preferably without any established authority.
The last consideration is most crucial for his selecting such a place. Now here are some facts we look at:
The Blockade of the Highway in Pakistani Administered Kashmir.
Some weeks back, in the initial stages of the Strike against Terror, we will recall that thousands of Jihadis had blockaded a highway in Pakistani Administered Kashmir, near the border with China. They had also extended their blockade to an abandoned airfield - but only for a short time. Why block a highway? - To prevent any authority from reaching there. Why block an airfield for a short time? - To enable it to be used by someone for landing. Why an abandoned airfield? - To prevent any quick retribution from the authorities which was bound to take place, if the airfield was a regularly used military airfield or even a civilian one.
Did OBL land up at this airfield during the blockade in early November? We can presume so.
Where did Hamid Mir, editor Ausaf the pro-Jihad publication visit Osama after 11th September?
Hamid Mir OBL's official biographer who is always taken to Osama with a blindfold, paid OBL a visit after 11th September. It would have been relatively difficult for Mir to have visited OBL by crossing the sealed Pak-Afghan border after 11th September. But Mir could have more easily slipped into Pakistani Administered Kashmir to meet his mentor.
We guess that OBL is today somewhere in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. This area suits him after the loss of Taliban ruled Afghanistan. We hope the Americans are also following a similar reasoning to bring Pakistani Administered Kashmir under special surveillance in addition to pounding Tora Bora.
