An Open Letter to Maananiya Shri Sudarshan ji, Sarsanghachalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)

Sub: We're Hindus, but our ancestor was Mohammed Paigambar

You have made the proposal to establish an indigenous church on the lines of the church in China for Indian Christians.

Many RSS leaders also make repeated clarion calls for Christians and Muslims in India to own up Ram and Krsna as their ancestors and stop looking at Babar (or Jesus) as their ancestors

But we're Hindus and our ancestors were Mohammed Paigambar, Babur, Aurangazeb, Mohammed Bin Tughlak as also Jack the Ripper, Casanova, Valmiki, along with Samrat Shri Ram and Yadavendra Shri Krsna.

In fact we would consider even Osama Bin Laden as our ancestor. But we do not consider him to be one today, since he is still living. And no living person can be an ancestor. Isn't it Sudarshanji?

In fact, going by our logic all dead humans are our ancestors. And those not yet dead will become our ancestors after they too die eventually. We all die someday, don't we? So we all become ancestors, some day. Isn't it?

By the way, we know that some of our ancestors were noble persons like Samrat Shri Ram, although his killing of Shambuka (because Shambuka did penance in spite of being a Shudra) was deplorable. Also Sri Krsna was noble, (if you leave aside his antics with the gopis). While some of our ancestors were confirmed criminals like Jack the Ripper and Valya Koli who as an exception, became a noble person as Valmiki. But some other of our ancestors were heinous to the hilt as they unleashed forced conversions and mass killings. Not to speak of the millions of humans they forced into this mindset of killing other humans who did not subscribe to the dictates of the founder of this killer instinct! But then the fact is that these heinous persons are today dead and so they are our ancestors, speaking on a global scale.

Needless to add that we are not limited in our vision to any country and so our ancestors are all the dead humans who were living some day on some part of our globe. And yes, Ram and Krsna also are the ancestors of the Muslims and Christians in India as are Paigambar and Babar our ancestors, although we are Hindus living in Europe and the USA.

Now Sudarshan ji, we are facing a dilemma. Our problem is what do we do with those of our ancestors who were heinous and were born in some other country? Please guide us as to how to address this problem. More so since this question was answered differently by another proponent of Hindutva, who is our spiritual Guru is also our ancestor today, since he is no more. His name was Veer Savarkar. While fighting for the liberation of our country from the colonial yoke, he also told us that the Hindutva outlook is not limited to a single country. And that Hindutva is a Universal outlook. So what do we do with those of our ancestors who were heinous and were born in some other country?

Yes we do realize that while all dead humans are our ancestors - yes all billions and billions of them; some were noble and some were heinous.

In this context could you (and other RSS leaders) say that we the humans should emulate the noble deeds of our ancestors, globally speaking, and give up the heinous deeds and attitudes of some other of our ancestors, again globally speaking? And in the true spirit of human civilization, instead of urging those who look upon these heinous humans as ancestors, to give up this ancestry; should we not expose and fight against those of their descendants (who continue to have that heinous attitude) so as to make human society better and worth living? Isn't it Sudarshan ji? This is what Veer Savarkar would have said. The same man who said that he does not consider the English to be his enemies while they made him push an oil press like a bullock in the Andamans.

So Maananniya Sudarshan ji is it right to ask the Muslims and Christians of India to disown Babar and Jesus and own up Ram and Krsna as their ancestors or should we call on every human all across the globe to own up the noble qualities of the human species while disowning and fighting against the ignoble ones?

We feel this is what the original proponent of Hindutva Veer Savarkar might have said, had he been alive.

Could you, Maananiya Shri Sudarshan ji guide us as to what is right and what is not in this context.
