A Welcome Message from hindutva.com to Your Excellency Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan

Many of those who swear by Hindutva would wonder why we need to welcome you a Pakistani President and Army General to India. Especially since :
- You have been the architect of the Kargil War
- You have, according to reports reaching us, continued till two days back (5th June 2001) to encourage the Jihadi elements in Pakistan to undertake murderous terrorist activities in India especially in Indian administered Kashmir.
Here's our take on the issue of welcoming you to India.
- We assume you are a modernist at heart (We may be wrong here.)
- We assume that like us, you too are an admirer of Ataturk - the Turkish secular reformer Mustapha Kemal Pasha (we assume we are right in this assessment of you Mr. President Sir)
- We assume that, at heart, you have a distaste of the obscurantist Jihadis (We may be wrong in this assumption).
- We assume that you want to make Pakistan a modern and democratic society. (We hope we are right in assuming this.)
A Question to you President Musharraf
Since you have in the past made known your admiration for Ataturk (the Turkish secular reformer Mustapha Kemal Pasha), what stops you from breaking the back of the retrograde Jihadis the way Ataturk did? What makes you befriend the Taliban, who would have been anathema to Ataturk?
Our Assessment of you is that Your Excellency has become [a reluctant rider(?) on the beast of theology-inspired terrorism]
We think we see in you a reformist who is trapped in the company of backward religious fundamentalists. But you are seen to be giving tacit encouragement to the Jihadis, and so in our opinion, in spite of your professed admiration for Ataturk and for all that the Turkish visionary did; you are riding the beast of theology-inspired terrorism.
If you are really a reformer like Ataturk then you would have to get down from the beast of theology-inspired terrorism that you are riding; and hunt that beast, in the manner as Ataturk did.
Can you do that? Are you willing to do that? Frankly speaking we do not know if you can. We also do not know if you want to do it at all.
A message to you President Musharraf
Mr. President Sir, if you are willing to dismount the beast of theology-inspired terrorism and hunt that beast, then you would be doing what Ataturk did, and you would be on the right side of history. But if you do not dismount that beast, and continue to ride it then irrespective of what you say that your vision is (similar to that of Ataturk), we will have to assume that you are either unable or unwilling to hunt the beast, but want to go in the same direction in which the beast of theology-inspired terrorism is taking you! The direction of building a theocratic Islamic state that is the vanguard of the narco-terrorist menace typified by the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. A menace that the world (including the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden) calls the "Islamic Jihad".
It makes your inability (or maybe unwillingness) to dismount the beast of theology-inspired terrorism and hunt it, that creates doubts in our minds about what you really want to be - maker of a reformed, progressive, secular society; or the leader of the Islamic Jihad in the capacity of being the President of the only Nuclear capable Muslim state on this globe?
Pardon us for what we have said below
If you are going to be the maker of a reformed, progressive, secular society then we are your admirers and supporters. We also wish you success and would like to join hands with you in this endeavor. But if you visualize yourself as the leader of the Islamic Jihad in the capacity of being the President of the only Nuclear capable Muslim state on this globe, then President Sir, we would consider it the duty of every sensible government on this globe to shoot the beast of theology-inspired terrorism and unfortunately so also its rider - which today happens to be you.
But you can make the difference
Our last word to you is that only you can make the difference of becoming the maker of a reformed, progressive, secular society; by publicly condemning the outlook of the Jihadis, by moving militarily against the antics of the Jihadis by breaking their backs and starting to convert Pakistan into a secular state like Turkey. Only this can change the perception of you being the promoter of the Islamic Jihad in the capacity of being the leader of the only Nuclear capable Muslim state on this globe. Can you and will you do this Mr. President Sir?
First Addendum - (6th June 2001)
Your recent condemnation of Religious Obscurantism during your address to a conference of religious heads (Maulavis) in Pakistan
We congratulate you on recently criticizing the antics of the religious fundamentalists who you said bring a bad name for Pakistan. Here you have made a good beginning. But just a beginning is not enough. In the coming days you should step up your ACTIONS against these elements. A word of caution to you - Keep the Pakistan Armed forces on your side. We know your task is difficult as compared to that of Ataturk.
We know that Ataturk was a part of the Ottoman Royal familyse as a Pasha, and hence he had a section of the Turkish armed forces (who were drawn from the former Ottoman Royal army) who were personally loyal to him. We are aware that you have no such advantage. This apart your task is more challenging due to the demographic composition of the army (the Mohajir, Punjabi factor). But Mr. President Sir, you have made a courageous statement by denouncing the outlook of the Jihadis. You have to now consolidate the modernist forces in Pakistani army, politics, bureaucracy and move carefully but decisively against the Jehadis who represent the worst form of Obscurantism.
We look forward to you with hope. Much in Indo-Pak relations, and also in global politics in the context of the challenge of theology-inspired terrorism to human civilization depends on YOUR personal actions and success against the Jihadis. Needless to underline that this is so since you are the Executive Head of the only nuclear capable Muslim nation on this globe. Now Mr. President Sir, you have to follow-up your words with actions and vindicate yourself
We hope that you will not let go the initiative that you have taken a couple of days back (5th June 2001) while addressing a conference of religious heads (Maulavis) in Pakistan; and that you will carry to a decisive conclusion this fight to ensure the defeat of religious obscurantism and the victory of modernism in Pakistan.
If you do not follow-up your words with effective actions, then we would have to infer that your speech was a publicity ploy, just to play to the gallery; to convince the Americans to lift sanctions, to encourge multinational investment in Pakistan and to pull wool over the eyes of us Indians - whom many of your fellow countrymen consider their target for destruction.
Mr. President Sir,, we know that you can, if you want to, display far-sightedness, vision, statesmanship and courage as Ataturk did; and strangle the forces of theology-inspired terrorism in Pakistan and thus make a Turkey out of Pakistan rather than making Pakistan into another Afghanistan!
The ball is still in your court Mr. President Sir. Our advice to you is - Play hard and trounce the Jihadis. We wish you all the best and are watching you checkmate and decimate the Jihadis who are the enemies of progress, modernism and everything that is decent in human civilization.

Second Addendum - (21st June 2001)
We Congratulate you on being appointed the President of Pakistan and also compliment you on your recent statement that Terroridst Organizations will be thrown out of Pakistan
While on this, we shall like to bring a few actions points that were undertaken by our common role model in Turkey - Ataturk,:
- Ban the use of Hijab (Chador, Burqua) by women in Pakistan (We feel that in India too the use of Purdah and Ghungat (veil) along with that of Hijab (Chador, Burqua) should be banned)
- Ban the growing of beards and wearing of Fez caps by men in Pakistan (In India too the growing of beards, wearing of Fez caps and Shika (Chotis) or pigtail and wearing the caste mark tilaka in public should be banned. Folks can do it inside the privacy of their homes, but not outside.)
- Ban the use of the Arabic script in Pakistan (In India the use of all vernacular scripts should be banned) and the Latin script should be used for all formal and public communication.
- Ban the use of Loudspeakers over Mosques for issuing the Muzzein's call for Prayer. (In India the same should be done for mosques, temples and all prayer houses.)
- Ban the education that is imparted in Madrassahs in Pakistan (In India too Madrassahs, Gurukuls, Convents, missionary schools, etc., should be banned. And only secular education should be allowed. All rational elements of traditional wisdom, should be made part of the secular ciricullum).
- Ban and move militarily against organisations spreading the activity of theology-based terrorism in Pakistan. (In India similar action should be taken).
- Ban the construction of new prayer houses and ban the repair of old ones in Pakistan (In India we need do the same)
- Publicly state during your state visit to India that in place of the demolished Babri Masjid, there should NOT be any prayer house, but we (Indians - with Pakistani and other international paticipation) should build at that site an International University for rationalist and humanist education where the upcoming generation should be taught the futility of worshipping human ignorance termed as god and the criminal nature of the act and idea of killing each other due the different names we have given to human ignorance (the unknown universe.)
Your Excellency needs to publicly state that the building of the Ram temple today (or any other prayer house) would be a retrograde step and that in history, the original Ram temple was constructed to worship a brave and generally good king; as a god. This construction of a prayer house to pray before the idol of a good king was stupidity.
Many centuries later another set of stupid-idiots (who were also barbaric and blood-thirsty, in addition) conquered the place, destroyed the Ram temple and put up another prayer house in its place, called the Babri Masjid in the year 1528.
And in the year 1992 a yet another set of stupid-idiots who had become barbaric as a reaction to the barbaric act of Babar in 1528, destroyed the Babri Masjid and re-constructed a makeshift temple to pray to King Ram whom they look upon as a god.
Net, net, in our view, the construction of the original Ram temple many thousands of years back, was an act of stupidity; the destruction of the Ram temple and construction of the Babri Masjid was an act of Barbaric stupidity and; the demolition of the Babri Masjid and reconstruction of the makeshift Ram temple was an act of reactive barbaric stupidity!
Now Mr. President Sir, if you are a Modernist in the mould of Ataturk, as we from the hindutva.com team also are; then you should state PUBLICLY on Indian soil that on at the site of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid, instead of a prayer house, the Govt of Pakistan would help and participate in the construction of an International University for Rationalist and Humanist Education. An University like the one that existed at Nalanda in ancient India.
This would be similar to what Ataturk did with the Selimiye Masjid which was originally the Basilica of Hagia Sophia at Istanbul (Constantinople) which Ataturk converted into a secular museum.
We also feel that, as an act of graciousness, while you are in India, you need to state that Samrat Ramchandra was a great king admired by Indians and that for him to be emulated as a human role model (but not as a god), you would sanction the construction of a sizeable imposing statue (say 500 feet high) of this ancient Indian King along with the International University for rationalist and humanist education. Something similar to the Buddhas at Bamiyan that were destroyed by the Taliban recently. This statue of King Ramchandra, could be a part of a collection of statues of all rational-thinking persons the world over like Ataturk, Charvaka, Savarkar, Buddha, and other rational-humanists. (The statue of King Ramchandra would be there not because he was a rational thinker, but because a temple dedicated to him was built there originally.)
All this may sound stupid to many, but President Sir, the need of the hour is for you to grab this historic opportunity while you are in India and state your intention to do what Ataturk would have done had he been in your role today. This Mr. President Sir will assure you a distinguished place in Human History as it has done for Ataturk. Now the question is; will you make a public statement to this effect, Your Excellency?
