Oldham, Burnley, Leeds, Bradford.... Race Riots or Britain's first brush with Communal Riots?
While the British media still refers to the riots at various towns in UK as race riots with the Whites being pitted against the Asians, one questions arises in our mind. Are all sections of the Asian community settled in UK involved in the rioting with the White Anglo-Saxon community? Are the Patels (Hindu Gujaratis) and Sikhs also a part of the riots? These two communities constitute a large proportion of the 'Asian' community settled in UK. If these sections are not involved in the riots, then why is the British media insistent on using the generic term 'Asian' to depict the rioters?
Yes the rioters are Asians, but specifically they are Mirpuri (Pakistani) and Bangladeshi migrants. These communities have one thing in common their religion - Islam. This is something which these Asians do NOT share with the Hindu Patels and Sikhs. Why does the British media not make it clear who the rioters are?
Whatever the alibi the British media has to keep using the misleading term 'Asian' to refer to the rioters, let us tell the British people that this experience with Muslim rioting is not new to India and to Indians settled elsewhere. This experience is unfortunately commonplace in any part of the world where there exists a minority Muslim population alongside a non-Muslim one.
The minority Muslims are aggressively against the majority non-Muslims. And if the Muslims are in a majority, the non-Muslims do not stand a chance vis-a-vis the Muslim majority.
Let us tell the British population to learn to be frank and bold to state the true identity of the rioters are and to realize that this is just the beginning of communal disturbances in Britian.
We have heard soap box orators from mid-eastern countries making provocative speeches at Hyde Park in London. They draw only bemused smiles from the White Britishers who casually listen to these rabble rousers.
But let us caution the British people and British authorities not to take the challenge brewing at Oldham, Burnley, Bradford etc., lightly. It will soon envelop London. And what will follow are demands that the British Muslim population should have favoured treatment and seat reservations in British educational institutions, job reservations in British Govt service and more so in the British Police, British Army, et al... Are the British people ready to concede such demands.
In short let us tell the British people that there is a Macedonia in the making in their own backyard (and frontyard).
To refuse to recognize the reality is to repent as Indians have done in India, as have the Israelis, as have the Philippinos and as have many others who share neighborhoods with those theology-inspired hoodlums - which is what the mobs at Oldham, Bradford, Leeds, Burnley ultimately are.
We do not condone the neo-Nazis
While saying all the above; we do not condone the activities of the neo-Nazi gangs in UK, USA and Europe. We condemn the colour bar, the informal apartheid and feeling of racial superiority that is prevalent among some sections of the Western population. But then there are black sheep everywhere. We reiterate that their outlook calls for condemnation too. But the challenge which the neo-Nazis represent is relatively less effective, and so relatively less dangerous today, than that of the theology-inspired hoodlums.
For the future, we foresee similar riots affecting towns with Muslim populations in France (the Algerian migrants), Germany (the Turkish migrants), Spain (the surviving Moorish population) as also in Australia (with its small but growing Muslim population); and above all in the great melting pot of all - the USA which is favorite of Al Queida of Osama Bin Laden.
