We from this hindutva.com team underline that we are bemused by the antics of some organizations that want to impose a ban on beauty pageants, celebration of birthdays, New (Julian/Gregorian) Year festivities, honeymoons, et al. Like us, these vagabonds also say, that they also uphold our same outlook of Hindutva. But we assertively state here that these lumpen elements, do not represent Hindutva since their ideas go against human sanity and commonsense. These ragamuffins do not fathom the depth of the Sanatana Parampara (the continuous tradition of free thought from ancient India), which they allege to represent.
We from the hindutva.com team, distance ourselves from such uncultured culture police.
We ask these Sanskriti Rakshaks (Culture Police) how is it that by shaking our hips do we shake off our Hindu culture? And if by exposing a bit, we expose ourselves to damaging outside influences, then what do these bigots think of the erotic sculptures at Khajuraho, or Konark, or Ajanta/Ellora and other Hindu temples?
We'd like to tell these culture police that singing and dancing has been a part of human existence since time immemorial. Please do not take away our right to sing and dance and make merry - for tomorrow we all die! Singing and dancing (and a wee bit of drinking) is what makes the human species enjoy life. Come on guys from the Culture Police - get a life.
For the kind info of these Sanskriti Rakshaks, last year even the President of the USA celebrated Diwali at the White House. In fact, we recommend that the New Year should be observed with all the traditional pomp and gaiety at India's Rashtrapati Bhavan and all Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament should be invited. After all do not all our Politicians clamour to organize Iftar Parties during Ramazan? Where are these saviours of Hindu Culture at that time?
Valentine's Day.
In this context those who make weird statements asking for a ban on Valentine's Day should think of the kind of signals they are sending to the Western Countries. Such actions help in typecasting Hindutva as a far-right wing Hindu nationalist ideology. Many Hindutvawadis (proponents of Hindutva) may say that this, in fact, is the right definition of Hindutva! But we think that Hindutva is an all-encompassing tradition and so goes beyond national boundaries. Hindutva is a Universal and Noble tradition of free and unhindered Human thought. Shorn of its visible ritualism, the Hindu Outlook is the only significant surviving element, the world over, of the sapient and scientific outlook which is natural to human beings. An outlook that embodies into itself the free evolution of human intellect..
And so there is no place for exclusionist, narrow-minded attitudes in Hindutva.
Unlike these Sanskriti Rakshaks (Culture Police), we are all for the modernization of human society; which in this context is interpreted by many as Westernization or as Americanization. We do not attach significance to the name(s) given to this process. What we fully endorse is, the observance of everything that makes life full of easygoing fun without causing social harm or social nuisance.
